Long-nosed Bandicoot joey in care with WIRESA tiny, juvenile bandicoot was rescued in Kenthurst where she had been found in a humane rabbit trap with her mother and two other joeys. The mother and babies were released from the trap by the resident but as two of the baby marsupials scampered off into the bush with their mum, this young female was left behind.  read more

Young White-bellied Sea Eagle rescued after becoming entangled in marine rubbish On the far south coast of NSW a few months ago a call came in to WIRES for someone to rescue a Sea-Eagle caught in fishing line. It was way down at Wonboyn Lake, about 40ks from Eden and well away from any raptor rescuer.  read more

Hawksbill Turtle in care with WIRESWIRES on the far south coast of NSW took a rescue call about a beached turtle. The turtle had already been returned to the water by a kind local, but had beached itself again. Two WIRES rescuers, Felicity and Emma went out and found an exhausted and injured Hawksbill Turtle.  read more
